The Bias in Cultural Variation

The Culture and Ecology Lab at Arizona State University studies cultural variation. The lab uses a lot of different methods like surveys, archival data, and even EEG to study specific ecological conditions. They found that about 20% of all of the variants in this data set could be explained by ecological features. It's a big effect for social psychology because they're usually operating with four or five percent.
