Undergrad Physics Courses Run for 15 Weeks
One junior professor appeared in my fee complaining about how, in the course they taught an undergrad physics course. He was teaching that in theory, his course runs for 15 weeks. And in this course, one or more of his students didn't turn up for the first x number of weeks. His colleagues and all his peers offered him words of support on line. But he tried to push back about how some young people find undergraduate subjects, like they find high school subjects, too slow and simple and boring. In those final two weeks, many people can get done in two weeks what it takes others 15 weeks of work to do. Why not just assess the students, regardless of how often they turn
