The Origins of Diseases

There are a lot of not diseases, but disorders that are named after individuals. But you don't have to have a con culture have that tradition either. There's things like diseases could be named a prestige language. It's the same impulse that gives us in linguistics, the term Grimm's law is like these people discovered this and we're going to put their name on it.
