David Perry: It takes a degree of privilege to be able to imagine that you can inhabit the position of another person right I can just kind of like float between perspectives. He says marginalized folks are often precisely the ones who are most attuned to the dangers of empathy, even in describing their own experiences and relating those experiences to others.
