The Right to Be Rusty at a Public Meeting in Massachusetts
The right to be rude at a public meeting in Massachusetts has now been upheld by the state Supreme Judicial Court. A resident sued after being threatened with removal from a town board meeting for directing strong language at a board member. The attorney for Southboro criticized the court's decision, saying it effectively warns local officials against enforcing even modest rules of order and to quorum at public meetings. They can't control Donald Trump, but they can control how they make their money.
