Pitching Is Personal, So Open a Door

The purpose of pitching is not to sell it, so open a door. If they have this look on their face, maybe you need to go, hey, wow, this isn't free after you, is it? What that will do is it will give them a chance to actually respond. You're still going to pitch your script. But I want you to practice breathing. And see, instead of trying to shove something that was never going to sell down a throat of someone who's never going to buy it, you've now built yourself a mentor.
