Is There More Freedom to Be a Lower Class Woman?

In a lot of ways, there's more freedom to being a lower class woman. It's more acceptable to have sex before marriage because there's less riding on the paternity of your children. A working-class woman can earn a living and also apply for help from her parish. For like a middle class woman or an upper class woman, it's they would have seen it as very degrading to either work for a living or ask the parish for money.
