The Different Inselias in the Southwest

Inselia species are dominant across the whole southwest. They figured something out that, you know, other plants haven't been able to figure out about living in extreme heat, extreme drought and salt and sand dunes. The ones that I'm most familiar with are inselia californica or inselia pharinosa. Californica is mostly, it's more coastal, right? It's closer to the coast. And pharinosa is in the desert, but in some of those parts of southern California where like the californ pass, the two meet,. So what's the deal with that?
