Herodium - A History of Herod
Herodium is located to the south of jerusalem, very close to beth Bethlehem. Its actually one in the line of fortified desert palaces that harrod built on the eastern frontier of his kingdom. At the base of it was a large palatial complex with an enormous pool used both for swimming and boating. The palace complex at the foot of the mountain also included a hippodrome,. And then at the top of the mountain, there is another palace. It's this huge complex right with is basically amounting to herod's most important region since the dead.
