Right now, aviation only accounts for about three and a half percent of global warming caused by humans. Scientists say that the next few years are critical if we want to get a grip on global warming. We need to nearly halve global carbon emissions by 2030 and bring them down to virtually zero by 2050. If nothing happens soon, could we end up being forced to cut back on flying altogether? The first idea is to develop new aircraft that don't run on fossil fuels at all. There were also hydrogen powered planes which was something airplane manufacturers were excited about.
