The Importance of Clean Air in China
In Beijing, the air quality index is about 170. That's roughly five to six times what would be normal in a city like London or Paris and New York. The Chinese government has known that it needs to clean up the air for quite a long time. If China wants cleaner air, it will inadvertently protect the climate.
