The U Technique: A Technique That Instantly Calls Attention to Itself
Gimmick is an interesting word because I think gimmick can apply to any technique that wasn't necessary right like anything can be a gimmick if it exists just to exist. Gimmick feels like a judgy word for device like if you don't like a device being used in something or a technique being used insomething gimmick feels like the dismissive way of of phrasing that. Yeah the the U technique is one that immediately calls attention to itself in a way that third person or first person doesn't and it's interesting why that is because inherently they all should be possible to use for storytelling.
