The Importance of Citation Number in Research
The citation number is a biased index, because we are only discussing about imperfect indices, but there's no perfection, so why? Because for example, reviews of literature are very, very much and more cited than experimental papers. This is why in the last years, some authors have understood that it's much better for your CV and your overall impact on the grant applications to publish more reviews with higher impacts. So this is a kind of a bias, I don't say that reviews are bad or meta-analyzes are not useful, I just say sometimes they are not published for the good reasons.
