How to Measure Viscosity of Blood
I've been donating blood about twice a year, mainly to reduce my ferritin levels because it's a commonly elevated biomarker. There is a very expensive machine called Reologics out there that measures the speed of the chip you threw. But I have a theory, when you give blood, you're lying there and the old gravity pump is going tick-tock, tick-tocks next to you with the bag on it. And I bet you that as long as it's fairly quick, you've probably got quite thin blood. It's a very rough guy, but hey, it might work and it's free.
