'Is David Ross the Donor of Benefiting Kind to Boris Johnson'
David Ross continues to say he didn't cover the costs, but Boris Johnson says Ross was the individual left at a pocket and was providing me with a benefiting kind. House of Commons Standards Committee rules that an ad hoc agreement was in place, and that David Ross was the donor of benefiting kind to Mr Johnson. The committee gave a warning to all MPs that ad hoc arrangements leave them potentially vulnerable to blackmail, allegations of inappropriate influence or embarrassment. We urge members to avoid seeking or accepting gifts or hospitality on the basis of complex and unclear funding arrangements which are by definition opaque, lack transparency and run counter to principles of openness.
