Methane is 82 times more powerful than CO2 at trapping heat, so getting methane emissions under control is a must for combating climate change. Between 1.4 and 2.3% of all natural gas extracted and processed in the United States is lost to leaks. With production low and demand high, that's money leaking into the atmosphere.
