The Procedural Rhetoric of Games

The term was coined by Ian Bogost, who's probably best known as an Atlantic author. He wrote a book called Persuasive Games where he defined the term. The way that games are persuasive through their mechanics as opposed to images and text or any other traditional form. But what comes out in the criticism of this is that this doesn't ever really exist in isolation. And that'll actually come up a little more in some of the stuff that I'm talking about too.
