Is Homer a Part of the History of Rome?

Romans seem to be interested in talking about their history, hence anyus bringing it right up to now. And the idea that history goes from the past and comes up to now is a continuous thing. They also write a specific form of type of play that the romans invented, which was the historical stage play. So again, they might be greek on the surface, but there's something deeply roman to it that's really interesting.
