Hume's Induction
One of the central concerns of the treatise is something known as induction. Hume says, um, you know, you could know that a triangle has three sides even if there were never any triangles in in e. So although he thinks that there is a place where we have certain knowledge, we can't have certain knowledge of the external world. Peter millikan: Can you tell us what he means by that?
