Technology was initially devised by a frenchman in 18 o nine. It quickly spread to britain shortly afterwards. Food became cheaper and would last for longer. The average person could now eat meat more frequently than before, albeit processed meat out of a can. But for the richest in society, it was a ferent story. A considerable number of chefs employed by their aristocratic french masters fled to england where they found work as chefs in large english houses. This wealthy or affluent, landed class showed off their wealth in the most fashionable way at lavish dinner parties. You can often see examples of menus from this era, from this time in history.
