Agatha Christie was a single working mum for her daughter Rosalind's childhood. She wasn't present in the way that her own mother had been. The 1930s are generally known as the golden age of crime fiction. Agatha has eight houses, but they all get bombed during World War II. And she takes a job at the London University College Hospital.
