The Aura of Loneliness
In some ways she has a very sociable 60s, and this is the point where her aunt is declining in health. That's also the first time that she really takes a stage with other poets. She craps defiantly says she would normally cross the road rather than hear a poem. There's also the sense of kind of costume and performance which comes out in her readings as well. The times don't want to accommodate me, the times are just going to have to expand to make room for me. And what's really joyful to see over her career, it doesn't track the normal kind of pattern of a poetry career.
