Hair's Prescription Utilitarianism

Hair was always interested in trying to get an element of reason into his prescriptivism. He disagreed with the standard of motivists like AJ Air or C.L. Stevenson who thought that moral judgements are just expressions of emotions and there's not really much basis for reasoning about moral judgements. For hair it was the fact that using moral language required you to universalize and universalize ability brought an element ofreason into your judgements. And I wanted to argue that there is and I tried to do that in various ways within the hairs model but eventually decided that that didn't work, couldn't work.
