The Relationship Between Equal Opportunity and the Maximum in Principle
Equality of opportunity doesn't sound like it's compatible with being relaxed about wealth at the top, says Donnie. He argues that we can compensate for inequalities by investing more in earlier education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds and providing that on a universal basis. Tackling maybe in the education system, focusing resources on disadvantaged children in schools is one way to achieve equality of opportunity even in an unequal society.
