The Differences Between Near Field and Far Field in EM Radiation
In electromagnetism, radiation refers to something quite specific. There's this distinction between near field and far field in study of electromagnetic waves. The term is somewhat vague, but usually close to sources within maybe one or two wavelengths. So that's far away. And why do we make it? Well, the reason we make it is because there are different effects that dominate in the near field in the far field.
