The Importance of Pouring Out Bad Ideas
I love this notion of pouring out the bad ideas to remove them from clogging. I think it also goes back to that idea that we discussed about the creative cliff. The first ideas are probably not going to be your best ones, even if they tumble out easily. And so over time, the more you struggle against whatever it is that's causing blocks and making it hard for successive ideas to emerge, that's when the good ones come out. If you always go through the motions of creating all 100 ideas, it'll be in there somewhere. Whereas if you'd stopped earlier, you might exclude the possibility of finding that good idea down the line.
