You Have to Give a Valentine to Everyone?

I feel like i was pretty young when the you have to give a valentine to everyone was first instituted. I remember just kind of thinking like it was a valueless exercise. And really the only thing exciting was if somebody had the wherewithal to tape a little lolly popper her, she's kissed their card. Or that's some point sexual.
