Vincent Van Gogh was born to a middle-class family in Zundert, Holland. His father was a preacher and his mother came from an upper middle-class Dutch family. As a young child, he began to live what was a very difficult life. He had the Van Gogh syndrome - but it wasn't as well known at that stage of his life.
