The End of History

The notion that intimacy is somehow going to breed cooperation is not... I would say it's untested, but unfortunately it is well tested. Just look at these outbreaks among different tribes in both the primal and metaphorical sense which have been led by people who were either second cousins or just one degree of separation from one another. So I'm really glad you're bringing this up because I've been thinking about this a lot actually in the last couple of days. And I was thinking it's like how much of my thinking about particularly subjects of magic and the occult is outdated thinking from the Clinton era.
