Palantir co-founder says he and a friend tried to start an ad tech company at Stanford. They didn't get funding because they were "too green" Palantir went on to work for Microsoft in the 90s, but was amazed by how different that place had become. The difference between committing yourself and actually doing it versus like sort of going through the motions is not that different, according to Palantir.
