The Importance of Determinism
I was taught that this was what set humans apart and made us ontologically distinct from animals. You know obviously we as a culture believe for a long time, and I think for me that was really unnerving to realize that I didn't have a soul. Then the question becomes well what is the difference between me and you know a very advanced form of a guy. And that question gets really thorny and it's very difficult to say, you know what what is it that separates my mind from a machine.
