Preventing Inappropriate Antibiotic Prescriptions - What's Next?

CDC developed a pre-commitment poster that doctors could sign and put up in their practice. The idea was to short circuit the assumption that the doctor has that the patient wants an antibiotic. We found that putting up those posters led to about a 20% reduction in inappropriate antibiotic prescribing. This actually winds up in the CDC's core elements for antibiotic stewardship.
