Ukraine's Willingness to Discuss the Future of Crimea With Moscow
Ukraine is reportedly willing to discuss the future of Crimea with Moscow if its forces reach the border. That's according to analysis of an interview with Andrei Sabaya, an adviser to Zelensky. These would be the strongest comments yet from Ukraine in terms of their willingness to enter into negotiations with Russia since talks with the Kremlin broke down last April. But I have my doubts as we've reported Crimea remains absolutely integral to the Ukrainian definition of victory. Not restoring it would give Russia a permanent foothold on the peninsula which they argue could destabilise their country.
