How to Write a Tone That Works for You

I have three tones that I write in that I can change based on the client. And one time when I was bored, I even wrote the same piece in three different tones. This is practice. It doesn't work for me to lay the tone back in. If you screw up the tone, you have to kind of rewrite it. He said journalists find it very difficult to kill their darlings. You know, the way that they write and maybe know that like, you know,you have to not be precious.
