The Rise and Fall of Empires
After 18 forty, the intermarriages between high status indian women and high status british men stopped. And then most of the congress interaction occurred between low-status indian women with like lo low class european men. There's depes insn and they were lighter skinned, obviously, than other indians on average. But they were low status because of their origins. Cause you had the british command and then you start to have mixing rights. So that was a thing in the nineteenth century.
