Where Have You Been? is about a rebellious teenage girl who goes to stay with her divorced father by the beat. It's while she's there that she falls in love with a guy from a rich family. She finds out her father is dying of cancer and writes a song in his honour, hence the name of the film. The reason it was so significant for Miley wasn't just the career stuff but also how she would meet an unknown Aussie actor at that point - Liam Hemsworth.
