Until I had started the dissertation research, I had no idea there was this like sub movement of self identified black evangelicals back in the 60s. There were some that I kind of already knew like Jim Wallace and Ron Cider, but I was surprised by others. You couldn't fault these black evangelical leaders for stepping outside. They were concerned about social and political flourishing for black people in America.
