Design skills matter a lot, says Paul Spoker. The best way to get your work seen is to produce things other people can see. Also word of mouth and entering competitions are tried and true measures that matter. I don't have a lot of confidence in things like behants or even Instagram. It's very hard to be found and see if stuff is better.
