The Connoisseur Police

I was very influenced by two bands. One was the Dead Kennedys, which I first heard over a college radio station when I was maybe 15, 16. And as a counterpart to that, I was also really influenced by the band Bad Brains because they speak in terms of positivity. It is very hard to think in terms of optimism, pessimism, hope,. Because those things become such template within our culture that they exclude so much. The individual has to know what he or she is really talking about when using that language and it may differ from person to person.
