The idea came to Imofo when he was writing support tickets for a brand. The first version of the referral programme was completely manual, so zero engineers were involved. It was just me and a sales person sending emal to all these retailers,. And we got, i don't know, something like 17 orders from this channel in the first month. But at that point, it was already hitting close to 30 % of our acquisition with productizing it.
