The Importance of Poverty

In 1900, 70% of humans lived in what the UN defines as extreme poverty. By the 1950s, it was down to 50%. In the 1990s,. it was 30%. Today, fewer than 10% of the human race lives in poverty. The human race has never had numbers like that since the dawn of Homo sapiens. And when you really think through what that means, it runs counter to the assertion and it's an assertion we hear every single day.
