Mark O'Mara says he felt there was a disconnect between his personal life and the work he did. He believes TV can do one of three things: It can either anest the ties or fill people with despair, or inspire people. The first obligation of any dram dramatic entertainment is to entertain - but beyond that, once you entertain people, they want to be part of your world. And if you give people a sense when they leave that theatre that there's possibility, it just seems far more accurate and socially responsible than putting them on a downer.
