Leibnitz: Is God Responsible for All of Creation?
Leibnitz says that everything that happens in the world, good or evil, can ultimately be tied back to god's will. He makes it very clear that we should make a distinction between the best of all possible worlds and a perfect world as we would see it. The conflict with modern christianity is obvious here. This whole universe was created so that we could have this ethical obstacle. After all, wyat's the best one have very little to do with us at all. So evil, to leibnitz, is a necessary evil.
