The film is a story about being Indian American. I didn't want the focus of the film and the message to be about that. It was one aspect of a spiritual seeking in people and the fragility of faith, but it is very much about that. In some ways, the fascination with the East is something that's never died since the Renaissance or whatever. We think that there's someone else far away.
