In 1928, we have our first bear market of the previous hundred years. A bear market being defined as a 20% drop from the top. This would actually lead into the Great Depression. Since this 1928 day, the S&P 500 has experienced 27 bear markets. And 26 of those times, it has been followed by a bull market with the only exception being the current bear market that we were in.
