Kearney's success was a source of friction with Hill, who still could not keep a job. Even with Hill back in his life, Kearney couldn't stop killing. During a trip to visit a friend in Tijuana, Mexico, he shot the victim and then raped him. In December 1967, Kearney and Hill moved again.
