Virtual smart home is an add on for node red that allows you to add pretty much anything to Alexa. The guy who runs it announced recently that the costs that he was having to maintain in order to provide this service on the AWS side had got so great that he needed to start effectively charging for this. So far so reasonable I think and then people started logging issues to say oh almost us broken and you never told me about it. He does offer a free service but if you want some extra features and some extra devices that you have to pay for it It's not a lot of money it's about a couple of dollars a month.
