How to Bring Your Students to Pleasure in Writing
If academics felt like they were treated better we would actually get better writing. If you're an administrator if you're a department chair somebody who's line managing academics don't just sit down with them when they have a performance review and say why haven't you published more. Ask them what gives you pleasure in your research, then find ways to facilitate those things that they feel really passionate about. I know this from my own teaching experience that when I've used the same kinds of strategies that I talk about in the book to bring my students to pleasure in writing I get better writing out of themI get better thinking out of them so it's not taking them away from intellectual rigor it's actually
