In a free market, it's not rewarded to be overly optimistic or overly pessimistic. Paul Ehrlich is one of the leading ecologists in the world under Fiat education and Fiat science but no one would ever keep him as an expert on climate change. The only maybe exception to that is the newspaper. But even there, it's because government's so involved in everything, I think that we all feel like, oh, it's happening to us and we're going to vote on it.
