Building a Gothic Cathedral in London
In 16 66, the great ire breaks out and destroys most of the centre of london. The royal government sees this as an opportunity to rebuild city along cabalistic lines. But it proves be impossible due to english common law which gives power to owners of private property. So they seize on certain important landmarks that they have the wherewithal to rebuild. They commission a young architect named christopher wren to rebuild saint paul's cathedral. And he proposes a sort of simplified gothic cathedral built out of plain white marble with rounded, wide open neo classical arches.
